Coffee and inks play an important role in my life, so sooner or later the two had to merge. Today I am sharing how I turned some coffee filters into a beautiful background for cards.<\/h3>\n

\"Coffee-and-Inks-Step-1\"<\/a>
\nSelect four colours of All Purpose Inks to use to add colour to your coffee filters. You will also need a pipette. Drop your lightest and first colour of ink onto your coffee filter.<\/p>\n

\nAdd a few drops of the second colour of All Purpose Inks. Spread your colours out over the entire surface.<\/p>\n

\nAdd your third colour of ink and continue adding the fourth and last colour of ink.<\/p>\n

\nMist the entire filter with a layer of water to make the ink flow and blend together.<\/p>\n

\nOnce the filters are dry, use a glue stick to adhere them to a piece of white cardstock.<\/p>\n

TIP: I separated my filters by simply tearing open the seams and cutting them into smaller pieces as desired. At this point you want the glue to dry for a while before moving onto the next step. <\/h3>\n

\nUse an embossing folder and emboss the surface of the card. Trim the piece smaller and adhere to the front of your folded card. Decorate the card using embellishments.<\/p>\n

Making my own paper using a few inks and anything that is available from my home is one of my favourite things to do. This piece of paper made from coffee filters is unique and offers a beautiful handmade paper effect. And don\u2019t worry if you only have used filters, simply wash them and let them dry for a natural coffee dyed effect.<\/p>\n

You can also add colour over the coffee stained look for a truly unique effect.<\/h3>\n
