With so many festive events happening in the second half of the year there is always an opportunity for a beautiful tag to grace a gift, table setting or mantle place. So what better way than to beat the rush and get started on some bright and beautiful festive tags that can be used for a myriad of purposes.<\/h3>\n

I created a set of AC Cardstock festive tags using the versatile new Cuttlebug embossing folders. These new sets are grouped for designs in a single pack to give you even more value for your crafting bucks. I wanted to make tags that were not totally theme or holiday specific but that was fun and festive. The Basic Grey Serendipity Paper pad was perfect for this project. With its fun and colourful palette it could be Christmassy but also fun.<\/p>\n

Christmas Tag<\/h2>\n

For this tag I used a cream cardstock base to cut my tag. I used a store bought tag as a template and traced it onto the back of my cardstock. I then added a piece of patterned paper slightly smaller than my tag leaving a border around the edges. I then embossed the entire tag using the snowflake embossing folder from my Celebrate Christmas set. To highlight the embossed surface I lightly inked over the entire tag using a sponge and some brown ink. I cut a border using the Quilted Christmas Cricut cartridge and added it to the top part of my tag highlighting the pomegranate cardstock using Anita\u2019s 3D glaze. A printed tag and some beads finish off my tag for a neutral festive celebration.<\/p>\n

Star Tag<\/h2>\n

I repeated the same process to cut my tag this time using AC Coffee cardstock. A piece of Serendipity patterned paper is used to form the background and another striped patterned paper from the paper pad added to form a base at the bottom of my tag. I used the plain yellow paper from the Serendipity paper pad to emboss the star image on. This embossing folder is so versatile and can be used cut out as I did here or to create a front cover for a card. I used pop dots to raise the yellow star with a button in the centre that draws the eye to the star as focal point of the tag. This tag is simple and uncomplicated but quick and easy enough to make repeatedly.<\/p>\n

Seasons Greetings Tag<\/h2>\n

What I love about crafting is that there are no rules when it comes to creativity. For this festive tag I used Olive cardstock for my tag base and a red patterned paper as my background. A simple Basic Grey layered sticker forms the focal point for my tag and is complimented by buttons and a stamped sentiment layered onto a scrap piece of patterned paper.<\/p>\n

So why not pull out all those unused embossing folders and in a few minutes you can create a stack of tags for gift giving and d\u00e9cor this coming festive season. And remember that crafting is what you want it to be \u2013 simple or complicated \u2013 so opt for making simple and beautiful things for the love of creating.<\/p>\n
