The scrapbook enthusiasts come from all of South Africa and even travel from surrounding countries.<\/p>\n<p>The next convention dates are: 8-9 September 2012 in Johannesburg and 15-16 September 2012 in Cape Town. As a busy wife, mother, daughter, friend and passionate memory-keeper, Amber found she had far too many more photos and scrapbook products then actual completed albums. Amber developed the Simple Stories concept as a way for all scrapbookers and hobbyists to document and share their stories in a quick, easy and beautiful way.<\/p>\n<p>Amber, along with her charming and supportive husband Kevin, introduced the concept and products to the wholesale scrapbook market in 2011 and has been fully embraced by scrapbookers and papercrafters everywhere who love this whole new way of preserving their most important memories!<\/p>\n<p>Simply put, Amber loves creating products that help inspire others so preserve and share their memories, from developing new products, choosing color palettes, and sketching ideas, to working along side her designers to get each collection just right. She loves the smell of freshly printed paper (who doesn\u2019t?) and loves everything about the scrapbook industry (even the deadlines and long hours!) Amber enjoys connecting with Simple Stories customers and fans, and is inspired on a daily basis by their creativity, talent and passion.<\/p>\n<p>Amber and Kevin live in the beautiful mountains in North Ogden, Utah and are parents to their three children, Katelyn (10 going on 16), Ashlyn (8) and Brock (7). She loves spending time with her family, going to movies (popcorn and diet coke are a must), shopping and traveling (even though she hates to fly.) She also has a passion for music, reading, her new iPad, anything Disney, decorating her home and all things Pinterest. Within five years, she had become an award-winning designer and founder of the popular handcrafted t-shirt line Amy Tangerine. Her collections were featured in hundreds of retail outlets, including Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus and Barneys New York, and yielded impressive worldwide sales.<\/p>\n<p>In 2007, her business expanded to include scrapbooking, with her fashion design work now being produced on a custom basis. Her love for sharing her clothing and now also paper crafts has taken her all over the globe and given her the opportunity to teach creative classes from Hawaii to Tennessee to Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n<p>She loves traveling, leisurely bike rides and relaxing in her little Venice Beach apartment, which she shares with her boyfriend, JC, and her two Jack Russell Terriers, Buster and Bamboo. Over the past two years, she&#8217;s been working on perfecting what she likes to think of as the \u201cart of truly living,\u201d which includes enjoying the everyday; working smarter instead of harder; globetrotting; achieving balance in daily life; and collaborating with other creative people. Her collaboration with American Crafts has been fortuitous, with her second line, Sketchbook, making its colorful splash on projects around the world.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.scrapbookex.co.za\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"SA Scrapbook Convention\">Read more about the SA Scrapbook International Convention here&#8230;<\/a><br \/>\n[\/tab]\n[tab]\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Kerri-Gurney-Art-Deco-Creations-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Kerri Gurney - Art Deco Creations\" title=\"Kerri Gurney - Art Deco Creations\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1621\" \/>I live in sunny Queensland Australia in the beautiful Redlands which is the bayside of Brisbane and have been married to my husband Wayne for 23 years and we have 3 children Ashleigh (19) Bradyen (17) and Taylah (12).<\/p>\n<p>I started my \u201ccareer\u201d in the craft industry back in 1996 when my sister in law and I started our own party plan business selling rubber stamps and accessories. I loved travelling around Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast doing workshops and introducing people to the world of papercrafting. The best part was watching people\u2019s faces when they embossed a stamped image for the first time and you knew that they too were hooked. As a stamper I was never going to go over to the \u201cdark side\u201d but now I mostly scrapbook although I still love stamping and love to incorporate stamping on a layout.<\/p>\n<p>I have worked in the scrapbooking industry since then, teaching classes at conventions and stores around Australia I love the enjoyment people get out of creating. My work has been published here in Australia and also in the USA. I am very proud to be part of the Creative Design Team for Couture Creations an Australian company devoted to producing expertly designed, high quality products to the crafting industry. Couture Creations is a leader in the design and manufacturing of embossing folders and has expanded to designing and manufacturing an exciting range of crafting tools and embellishments.<\/p>\n<p>I love that I can make a page as simple or as embellished as I want but for me it is about the photo and reliving the memory while I am scrapping.
