The ability to see the various colours inside different collections and paper ranges is what empowers us to combine not only different products together successfully but to create loads of interest.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>All Right Layout<\/h3>\n<p>For this layout I used products from BasicGrey, Prima, Simple Stories and Glitz. The beautiful and vibrant colours from the Simple Stories Fabulous range can be quite intimidating unless you are scrapping little girls. But how can you incorporate those beautiful papers when scrapping boys, puppies, travel and even adult photos?<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Stamping\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/stamping.jpg\" rel=\"media\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"gallery_full\" title=\"Stamping\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/stamping.jpg\" alt=\"Stamping\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The secret lies in adding something unexpected. So I grabbed the totally amazing Happy Travels range from Glitz to add some grown up sophistication to my project by incorporating red as an accent colour. The red acts as a middle ground where all the other colours are merged to form an effective mix of bright colours and pretty vintage tones. I wanted my layout to be playful and happy because of the not so happy photos, but to also have that sophisticated vintage look I have come to love. By using different products and different collections together I found the perfect mix for me.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Sewing\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/sewing.jpg\" rel=\"media\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"gallery_full\" title=\"Sewing\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/sewing.jpg\" alt=\"Sewing\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>To further add interest to my layout I tilted my photos and elements slightly to create a diagonal line across the centre of my layout. The centre elements are \u2018held\u2019 together by creating a top and bottom border sandwiching the middle section. My borders I created by repeatedly cutting the number \u20188\u2019 using the Makin\u2019 the Grade Cricut Cratridge and lining them up to create an interesting and effective border. Quick and easy!<br \/>\n<em>PS. Those photos are really happy photos since they make me smile every time I look at them.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Patterns\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/patterns.jpg\" rel=\"media\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"gallery_full\" title=\"Patterns\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/patterns.jpg\" alt=\"Patterns\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Tips and Hints<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Remember that accent colours do not always have to be the same shade and intensity as that found in the patterned papers used<\/li>\n<li>By turning your background cardstock over and working on the smoother side, you can stamp and get a nice crisp impression<\/li>\n<li>Create clusters of elements for impact by grouping things close together like the flowers, leave, giant rhinestone and diamante<\/li>\n<li>Raise sticker elements for added dimension using the super strength Pop dots. I started off my career in retail working in a paper shop importing handmade speciality papers from japan, Canada, India and America. We also imported a range of rubber stamps (PSX), along with Ranger Products, and Tsukineko to mention a few. This was all back in 2000. I moved to the wholesale part of the business and got involved in window dressing and opening a second flagship store for the company while the owners were overseas. I have travelled extensively to America visiting CHA and Frankfurt Germany to their biggest paper trade show \u201cPaperworld\u201d where I gained valuable knowledge regarding the industry. After a whirlwind love affair with the business I headed off into the sunset to fulfil my second dream by working in publishing. I started off as Technical Editor on a scrapbooking magazine and worked on several other craft publications in the company as well. But this was not enough \u2013 after a long journey I started my own scrapbooking magazine, which transformed into writing a real book book as opposed to a magazine book, and the rest is history. I am currently a best-selling author in the craft industry with my book \u201cScrap-Boek\u201d being the fourth best seller in South Africa and currently in second print. I am a freelance artist doing work for various companies such as Caxton Magazines that includes Rooi Rose and Bona Magazine to mention a few. I travel regularly to various shows teaching and presenting lectures on scrapbooking, card-making and creativity. I have been published several times in American publications such as Taken Ten Magazine, Catch Up Issue \u2013 both Somerset Publications. I was also asked to be a guest artist by Taken Ten Magazine for one of their issues in which an entire article was dedicated to my work. In December 2011, I made my television debut by presenting Christmas Crafts on 3 Talk with Noeleen. After a bit of a sabbatical with my on-line classroom website Scrapcouture, we are busy revamping it with a fresh new approach to bringing creativity and new techniques to people all over the world. Other than that I spend lots of time scrapbooking and making cards and teaching classes weekly in Gauteng as well as throughout South Africa. I am passionate about what I do and I have had many amazing experiences and met so many famous people throughout my creative journey. I started off my career in retail working in a paper shop importing handmade speciality papers from japan, Canada, India and America. We also imported a range of rubber stamps (PSX), along with Ranger Products, and Tsukineko to mention a few. This was all back in 2000. I moved to the wholesale part of the business and got involved in window dressing and opening a second flagship store for the company while the owners were overseas. I have travelled extensively to America visiting CHA and Frankfurt Germany to their biggest paper trade show \u201cPaperworld\u201d where I gained valuable knowledge regarding the industry. After a whirlwind love affair with the business I headed off into the sunset to fulfil my second dream by working in publishing. I started off as Technical Editor on a scrapbooking magazine and worked on several other craft publications in the company as well. But this was not enough \u2013 after a long journey I started my own scrapbooking magazine, which transformed into writing a real book book as opposed to a magazine book, and the rest is history. I am currently a best-selling author in the craft industry with my book \u201cScrap-Boek\u201d being the fourth best seller in South Africa and currently in second print. I am a freelance artist doing work for various companies such as Caxton Magazines that includes Rooi Rose and Bona Magazine to mention a few. I travel regularly to various shows teaching and presenting lectures on scrapbooking, card-making and creativity. I have been published several times in American publications such as Taken Ten Magazine, Catch Up Issue \u2013 both Somerset Publications. I was also asked to be a guest artist by Taken Ten Magazine for one of their issues in which an entire article was dedicated to my work. In December 2011, I made my television debut by presenting Christmas Crafts on 3 Talk with Noeleen. After a bit of a sabbatical with my on-line classroom website Scrapcouture, we are busy revamping it with a fresh new approach to bringing creativity and new techniques to people all over the world. Other than that I spend lots of time scrapbooking and making cards and teaching classes weekly in Gauteng as well as throughout South Africa. I am passionate about what I do and I have had many amazing experiences and met so many famous people throughout my creative journey.
