Well we keep on saying that we make cards and use those scraps but do we really? Uh\u2026yes I do. I can honestly say that I use every single piece of precious patterned paper that goes into a project. Maybe it\u2019s the hoarder in me but I hate to throw away even the tiniest bit of paper \u2013 \u2018cause you know in reality that deep down you can use it.<\/h3>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" title=\"Celebrate Card Chipboard\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/card-4-chipboard.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"gallery_full\" title=\"Celebrate Card Chipboard\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/card-4-chipboard.jpg\" alt=\"Celebrate Card Chipboard\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So after making quite a few projects in the last month with all the amazing products distributed by The Wholesaler, the turn of the scrap box came along. I made a heap of cards using the tiniest of pieces and even some larger pieces were thrown in the mix. It looked like a real mush-mash of stuff together so I decided to embrace the fact and just go for it \u2013 but to make a set of cards I looked for a common denominator to tie the whole lot together. For this purpose I used two things \u2013 the red Basic Grey 3664 PB&amp;J Double Sided Paper &#8211; Rasberry Jam dot paper and a stamped image from Kaisercraft that I coloured to match the theme of my cards.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Lazy Days Card<\/h2>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" title=\"Lazy Days Card\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/card-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"gallery_full\" title=\"Lazy Days Card\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/card-1.jpg\" alt=\"Lazy Days Card\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The base consists out of 3 patterned papers &#8211; Basic Grey 3664 PB&amp;J Double Sided Paper &#8211; Rasberry Jam, Basic Grey 3658 PB&amp;J Double Sided Paper &#8211; Picnic Basket and Kaisercraft KCP850 Timeless Double Sided Paper \u2013 Floral . I first cut the width (14.5cm) all the same to fit the front of my folded card. Adhere the strips together at the back using Purple Turtle double sided tape. Now cut the entire piece to measure 14.5&#215;14.5cm and adhere it to the front of your folded base. You should have a small white border all around the edge.<\/li>\n<li>Adhere the Crate chipboard element to the top part of the background. Ink the edges to give it a more vintage look and soften the edges.<\/li>\n<li>Adhere a clip art tag just below the chipboard element.<\/li>\n<li>Punch a circle from the stamped and coloured piece with the letters on and cut off 1cm from the punched circle on the left. Ink the edges lightly.<\/li>\n<li>Adhere the stamped circle piece flush with the edge of the patterned background piece.<\/li>\n<li>Finish off the card using buttons, matted sticker sentiment and some sewn stitches.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>You Are My Treasure<\/h2>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" title=\"You Are My Treasure Card\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/card-2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"gallery_full\" title=\"You Are My Treasure Card\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/card-2.jpg\" alt=\"You Are My Treasure Card\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cut a piece of the striped paper Crate AC 680035 Story Teller Double Sided Paper \u2013 Document to measure 14.5&#215;14.5cm.<\/li>\n<li>Cut a piece of the Basic Grey dot Basic Grey 3664 PB&amp;J Double Sided Paper &#8211; Rasberry Jam paper to measure 6.5x11cm and adhere it flush to the left edge of the striped paper and vertically centred.<\/li>\n<li>Punch another circle from the coloured and stamped piece and cut it in half. Adhere this half circle to the lower part of the red dot paper also flush against the edge.<\/li>\n<li>From the Crate AC 683005 Pretty Party Chipboard Accents sheet take two butterflies and place them on top of each other for dimension. Use a flower chipboard element and add it on top of the smaller butterfly. Apply some Glitzin\u2019 Glamour Aztec gold glitter glue to the flower chipboard element.<\/li>\n<li>Add a clip art ticket with sewn crosses to finish off your card.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Sweet Home<\/h2>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" title=\"Sweet Home Card\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/card-3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"gallery_full\" title=\"Sweet Home Card\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/card-3.jpg\" alt=\"Sweet Home Card\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cut a piece of Kaisercraft KCP850 Timeless Double Sided Paper \u2013 Floral paper 14.5&#215;14.5cm for the background. Adhere to the card front.<\/li>\n<li>Cut a piece of red dot Basic Grey 3664 PB&amp;J Double Sided Paper &#8211; Rasberry Jam paper to measure 6.5x11cm and adhere it flush against the left edge of the floral background.<\/li>\n<li>Trim a scrap piece of AC coffee cardstock into a flag. This piece measures roughly 9x2cm.<\/li>\n<li>Adhere the flag strip with a clip art ticket to the top part of the card as per the sample.<\/li>\n<li>Adhere the remainder piece of the stamped circle from card 1 to the bottom right hand corner of the card.<\/li>\n<li>Finish off the card using buttons, a chipboard flower from the Crate AC 683005 Pretty Party Chipboard Accents sheet and some sewn crosses.<\/li>\n<li>To add some sparkle to my sewn crosses I used the Glitzin\u2019 Glamour Aztec gold glitter glue to dab small dots onto the holes and left it to dry for a subtle touch of colour.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Celebrate<\/h2>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" title=\"Celebrate Card\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/card-4.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"gallery_full\" title=\"Celebrate Card\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/card-4.jpg\" alt=\"Celebrate Card\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cut a piece of blue Crate AC 680035 Story Teller Double Sided Paper \u2013 Document paper to measure 14.5&#215;14.5cm.<\/li>\n<li>Cut a strip of red dot Basic Grey 3664 PB&amp;J Double Sided Paper &#8211; Rasberry Jam paper to measure 14.5x5cm. Adhere the strip to the background 5.5cm from the bottom edge.<\/li>\n<li>Add the cupcake chipboard element from the Crate AC 683005 Pretty Party Chipboard Accents sheet. Add a strawberry from the same sheet on top for added dimension.<\/li>\n<li>Adhere the remainder piece of the stamped circle to the left edge of the red dot strip.<\/li>\n<li>Add a clip art tag, buttons and sewn crosses to finish off the card. Matt a sticker sentiment and adhere just below the cupcake chipboard element.<\/li>\n<li>Add some ADCO 721971 Couture Creations Glitzin\u2019 Glamour Crystalina glitter glue to the strawberry as a finishing touch.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" title=\"Lazy Days Card Detail\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/card-1-detail.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"gallery_full\" title=\"Lazy Days Card Detail\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/card-1-detail.jpg\" alt=\"Lazy Days Card Detail\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>How to make your stamped accents<\/h2>\n<h3>What you will need<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>White AC cardstock (work on the back)<\/li>\n<li>Kaisercraft KCCS838 Timeless Textured Clear Stamp \u2013 Numbers<\/li>\n<li>Acrylic block<\/li>\n<li>Craft sheet<\/li>\n<li>Ink marker<\/li>\n<li>Spray bottle<\/li>\n<li>Circle punch<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Step 1<\/h2>\n<p>Stamp the Kaisercraft KCCS838 Timeless Textured Clear Stamp \u2013 Numbers onto white cardstock using a permanent black ink pad. <\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" title=\"Stamped Accents Step 1\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/step-11.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/step-11.jpg\" alt=\"Stamped Accents Step 1\" title=\"Stamped Accents Step 1\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Step 2<\/h2>\n<p>On your craft sheet scribble a small patch using an ink marker. Markers normally have a brush tip for colouring as well as a fine tip for writing. The brush tip enables you to colour larger areas quickly.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" title=\"Stamped Accents Step 2\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/step-21.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/step-21.jpg\" alt=\"Stamped Accents Step 2\" title=\"Stamped Accents Step 2\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Step 3<\/h2>\n<p>Spritz the ink with water to form coloured water drops.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" title=\"Stamped Accents Step 3\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/step-31.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/step-31.jpg\" alt=\"Stamped Accents Step 3\" title=\"Stamped Accents Step 3\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Step 4<\/h2>\n<p>Turn your stamped cardstock over and press it face down into the ink. Repeat until you are happy with the colour consistency. Never drag the cardstock piece across the craft sheet as it causes the cardstock to create \u2018scratch\u2019 marks.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"media\" title=\"Stamped Accents Step 4\" ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/step-4.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewholesaler.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/step-4.jpg\" alt=\"Stamped Accents Step 4\" title=\"Stamped Accents Step 4\" class=\"gallery_full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Tips and hints<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>By adding colour to stamped images in this way gives a \u2018water-coloured\u2019 and washed look, rather than a solid and vivid coloured image.<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t have the right colour ink marker? Softer colours added to white cardstock are more likely to \u2018fit\u2019 into your colour scheme than a bright coloured image anyways.<\/li>\n<li>Alternatively stamp your image in a coloured ink pad and leave the background white.<\/li>\n<li>When you want to stamp an image onto your layout or card, work on the smooth side of the cardstock. The smoother side will give you a better stamped image as opposed to stamping onto the texture side where the ink can\u2019t get into.<\/li>\n<li>Inking chipboard elements won\u2019t make a huge difference \u2013 but a noticeable difference once your project is completed.<\/li>\n<li>Stack chipboard elements on top of each other to create dimension.<\/li>\n<li>Dress up chipboard elements by adding some glitter glue. Use your finger to spread the glitter glue over the chipboard element and leave to dry.
