Recycle your Hotfoil leftovers – Jowilna’s How To

How to make the most of all your foiled pieces from the GoPress and Foil machine!

If you have been playing with your machine then you have realised that you have loads of negative pieces left over that are just sitting around, or being chucked into the dustbin. But you can make the most of them by simply recycling them into something creative.

  • Step 1

Gather some of your foiled pieces as well as the foil negatives that are left over.

  • Step 2

Add strips of double-sided tape to a tag or card. Adhere them randomly and even overlapping each other for a fun look.

  • Step 3

Remove the backing from the double-sided tape. Take your used foil pieces and place them with the colour side facing up, onto the tape. Lightly add some pressure and rub over the foil to transfer onto the tape.

  • Step 4

Carefully peel away the foil to reveal your foiled tape strip.

  • Step 5

Repeat the steps one strip at a time to foil them. I even used the patterned pieces that left a beautiful design and pattern on my tape strip.

  • Step 6

Continue to foil all your tape strips on your background. I added, even more, strips overlapping my already foiled strips for a beautiful solid background.

  • Step 7

Once you are happy with your background, use an embossing folder and your GoCut and Emboss machine and emboss a pattern onto the foil strips.

  • Step 8

Adhere your reindeer foiled image to the tag and finish off with some embellishments.

It’s the perfectly fun way to recycle your hotfoil leftovers. Remember not to throw those little bits of hotfoil away.
