Little Bo Peep…

When I first saw the new Crate Paper Little Bo Peep and Little Boy Blue range of scrapbooking goodies my heart melted. I love Crate Paper and embellishments so much – the vintage feel is just up my alley! The fact that we have no small babies in the family didn’t deter me at all. I am comfortable enough in my scrapping that I can use any themed paper for any theme layout. It takes courage to mix things up and I think it has to suit your style and personality – but it is very possible and it works. I chose to throw in a bit of grown up vintage paper into the mix in the form of Teresa Collins’ Then and Now range as well as the beautiful On Trend Crate Chipboard elements.

Welcome Baby Layout

For my layout I used some photos of my niece when she was born. The embellishments were just perfect and so adorable I couldn’t resist using them! I added two strips of Teresa Collins Newsprint paper (blue pattern on the back) on the outside edges and then added my photos and grouped embellishments on the inside of the strips (lines). The lines act as a contained area for my groupings but also create balance. I used a variety of elements grouped together on a base of patterned paper circles – everything together lets your eyes move in a soft “S” curve from left to right. I further added to my design using contrast in the form of Space, Filled space vs Empty space.

Little Bo Peep - Welcome Baby Layout

The double sided patterned papers offer loads of opportunity which means that it doesn’t necessarily have to be used for baby layouts. In a few easy steps and by combining the product with other ranges and manufacturers, you are sure to find a winning combination for any project you may want to tackle.

Baby Girl Card

Little Bo Peep - Baby Girl Card

With my left overs I had time to quickly make a beautiful baby card.
To create my card I used two strips of patterned papers as my base and adhere them to my folded card.
Adhere two tags cut from the tag sheet and layer them on top of each other.
Cut a strip off of the back of your patterned paper and layer it on top of the tags overlapping left and right.
Add embellishments, sewing and finish of a quick and easy card.
