Festive Greeting Cards & Folded Trees!

Nothing says festive quite like handmade greeting cards. Taking the time to create something unique and personal says a lot. But in our busy lifestyles who really has the time to sit down and make handmade greetings for family and friends. If you make the time you will have the time.

But if you are smart then you will grab the new Kaisercraft Frosted Paper that is all ready for you to use and you can make cards in minutes and still send them out in time this year.

The clever and beautiful designs of this range makes card-making so much easier, and with the collectables pack you can’t go wrong. All the thinking and designing has been done for you and you can simply be creative. That’s how I like to make cards – they have to be quick and easy and is a totally different form of being creative.

So, I came up with these cards created using the stunning collectables, 6×6 paper pad and some of the 12” papers. I only needed to add minimal embellishments in the form of diamante for these cards to shine, and that way even if the recipient throws them away after years I won’t feel sad or disappointed.

Festive Greeting Cards - Vintage

  • Fold your card to measure 14x41cm.
  • Trim a piece of patterned paper slightly smaller measuring 13.5×13.5cm and ink the edges. Adhere the piece of paper to the front of your card.
  • From the 12” postcard sheet, tear off 2 postcards and ink the edges. Adhere the postcards to the front of your card slightly overlapping each other at an angle.
  • Trim the ‘O Christmas Tree’ from a sheet of paper and adhere to the right of the postcards.
  • From the collectables pack adhere the sentiment using foam tape overlapping in the centre of your card. Finish off by adhering a diamond.

  • Trim a piece of paper 13.5cm wide x 6cm high. Adhere this strip in the centre on the background patterned paper. Just eyeball it and adhere it.
  • Use a landscape postcard from the 12 sheet and ink the edges. Adhere the postcard to the centre of the card overlapping the horizontal paper strip.

Festive Greeting Cards - Christmas Trees

Remember how I am creating a few Christmas elements to display around the house in little vignettes. As part of those collections I made these quick and easy trees using some of the 12” papers.

Simply use the template (get it here) in different sizes and draw them onto the patterned papers. Draw and cut 5 trees out and fold them in half.

Adhere each half to another half until you adhere the last one to the first one to complete your dimensional standing tree. Finish it off with a pearl adhered to the top of the tree using dimensional glaze.
